New Mexico’s Vote Yes for Kids!
Voters in New Mexico overwhelmingly passed a constitutional amendment to dedicate significant revenue to early childhood education and K-12 education via their November 2022 ballot. The amendment increases the percentage of revenue taken out of the Land Grant Permanent Fund every year from a 5% withdrawal to a 6.25% withdrawal. 60% of this additional drawdown will go to early childhood education, adding approximately $150 million to the state’s funding for young learners.
