Jackson County, MO’s Jackson County 4 Kids
On election day, Jackson County voters decisively renewed and doubled their children’s fund levy, which provides mental health support for children and youth. The Children’s Services Fund of Jackson County was originally established in 2016 with a ⅛ cent sales tax and has raised about $13 million a year. In November 2022, voters reauthorized the fund and doubled its impact to a ¼ cent sales tax to meet the urgent needs of the county. The fund provides mental health services, in-home prevention services and school-based crisis prevention for children and youth in the community.
