
Whatcom County, WA’s Yes for Whatcom Kids!
In 2022, voters in Whatcom County, Washington narrowly passed Prop 5, which will generate new funding for high-quality, affordable child care and expanded mental and behavioral health services and housing programs for vulnerable children. The measure will generate approximately $10 million a year through a property tax increase of $0.19 per $1,000 of assessed value. Revenue from this tax will be dedicated solely to the Healthy Children’s Fund of Whatcom County.
