In 2025 Measure 7A created Colorado’s first Early Childhood Service District, a special taxing district for early childhood education. The measure is a region-wide investment across Garfield, Pitkin, and a portion of Eagle County that aims to increase the number of children 0-5 who have access to a child care slot from 44% to 60%. The fund plans to dedicate around $7 million annually to sliding-scale tuition assistance for families and $2 million annually to provider grants. (Service District Plan)
